Professor Hilton Staniland is an Honorary Professor at Queen Mary University of London’s Centre for Commercial Law Studies (CCLS), specializing in maritime and admiralty law. He holds adjunct roles at the World Maritime University and is an Emeritus Professor at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. His research focuses on international shipping regulation, marine environmental protection, and Blue Economy development. He actively contributes to maritime law reform globally, drafting legislation for numerous countries and advising on safety, environmental protection, and Blue Economy initiatives. His pro bono work supports developing nations in legal frameworks for maritime governance.
