Hillary Zieve

Dr. Hillary Zieve is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine, and a practicing pediatrician at CHOC (Rady Children's Health) in Orange County, California. She provides care at CHOC Clínica Para Niños and CHOC Boys and Girls Club Clinic in Santa Ana, focusing on general pediatrics and community-based health services.

Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry with a minor in Medical Anthropology from the University of Southern California, followed by her Medical Degree from UC Irvine School of Medicine. She completed her Pediatrics Residency and served as Chief Resident in the UC Irvine/CHOC Pediatric Residency Program.

Dr. Zieve's research and clinical interests center on medical education, primary care, and preventive medicine, with a strong emphasis on pediatric obesity management, nutrition, and healthy weight loss. She is passionate about promoting long-term health through early lifestyle interventions and community engagement.

She is actively involved in medical education as the Associate Program Director of the UC Irvine/CHOC Pediatric Residency Program and serves as a faculty mentor for trainees and residents. Her work in community health includes co-founding Team KiPOW OC, a school-based behavioral change program that educates students in Title 1 schools about nutrition and physical activity, and co-creating CHOC’s Feeding the Future nutrition course for infants and toddlers.

Dr. Zieve has been recognized for her contributions to pediatrics, receiving the AAP-OC’s Young Pediatrician of the Year award in 2019. She previously served as a board member of the American Academy of Pediatrics Orange County Chapter 4.
