Hillary Chanda

Hillary Chanda is a Lecturer at Copperbelt University (part-time) and a Postgraduate Research Student at the University of Reading. He holds a BA in Business Administration and an MBA with Distinction from Copperbelt University, where he received Best Student honors. With 18 years of experience in education, including 12 years as a Business Lecturer, he has taught at Copperbelt University, University of Zambia, and University of Reading across diploma, degree, and postgraduate levels.

His research focuses on:

• Renewable energy management in rural communities
• Sustainable energy generation and financing mechanisms
• Solar PV adoption impacts on rural livelihoods
• Entrepreneurship ecosystems and institutional determinants
• Higher education service quality assessment

His publications primarily examine community-led renewable energy adoption in Zambia, analyzing social dynamics, environmental impacts, and economic dimensions of solar PV implementation in off-grid communities.

Dr. Chanda has received several honors including:

He supervises students through the Energy & Environmental Engineering Research Group at Reading, focusing on sustainable energy solutions for rural development.
