Hien Duc Do is Professor of Sociology & Interdisciplinary Social Science and Director of the Student Success Center in SJSU's College of Social Sciences. His research explores Vietnamese American communities, race relations, and religious impacts on immigration. He holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from UC Santa Barbara (1992) and authored The Vietnamese Americans (Greenwood Press, 1999).
As past President of the Association for Asian American Studies (2000-2002), he has shaped academic discourse through documentary production and scholarship. His current manuscript examines religion's role in immigrant adaptation.
