Hideaki Tsutsui

Hideaki Tsutsui is a Professor and Department Chair of Theatre and Dance at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). He is a globally recognized lighting designer with extensive experience in theatre, opera, dance, and large-scale events. His work spans prestigious venues such as Lincoln Center, the Joyce Theatre, and the West End in London, alongside collaborations with renowned artists like Garth Fagan and Mikel Rouse.

• Notable Projects: Lantern Floating for Peace (Lincoln Center), The Demo (Krannert Center), and La Pasión Según San Marcos national tour.
• Operational Leadership: Former VP of Operations at Eggshell Light Company in Hawaii, designing over 100 corporate events and concerts.

Research & Innovation: Specializes in integrating LED technology and sustainable practices into performance design, exemplified by the annual Lantern Floating Hawaii event (40,000+ attendees).
