Herman U Ramos

Herman U. Ramos is an Adjunct Lecturer at the School of Theatre + Dance, University of Florida, and holds adjunct positions at Santa Fe College. Specializing in Hip Hop and African Diasporic dance practices, he merges performance, pedagogy, and cultural research. His roles include choreography, teaching, and guest artist collaborations across Florida and beyond.

Education: MFA in Dance Performance and Choreography from Florida State University (2016). Teaching experience includes University of Florida, University of Tampa, Texas A&M, and College of Charleston. Research focuses on Jazz and Hip Hop within African Diasporic traditions, with recent certifications in Giordance technique enhancing his pedagogy.

Awards include the 2024 Part-time Faculty Excellence Award for contributions to Santa Fe College and the Gainesville community. He actively participates in Orlando's contemporary dance scene as a contributing artist with Emergence Dance. Collaborations span institutions like Rosie Herrera Dance Theatre (Miami) and T Lang Dance (ATL).
