Herman Bruserud

Herman Bruserud is an Associate Professor at the Department of Private Law, Faculty of Law, University of Oslo. He holds a Cand. jur. (2002) and a PhD (2010) from the University of Oslo. His academic career includes roles at law firms Haavind and Kluge, the Ministry of Justice’s Law Department, and since 2012, as an Associate Professor focusing on contract law, obligations law, and construction law. He has authored influential works such as Hardship Clauses (2010) and contributed to texts like Foreldelse av fordringer (2011).

Research interests include contract interpretation, construction law, tort law, property law, and enterprise law. His recent work addresses the Norwegian Supreme Court’s application of construction law standards and contractual principles. He actively participates in the Labor Law Group and has extensive teaching experience in legal education and professional training.

Notable publications include analyses of contract validity, breach remedies, and legal invalidity principles in Nordic law. His work bridges theoretical legal frameworks with practical applications in construction and energy sectors.
