Mag. Dr. Herbert Posch is a Senior Scientist and historian at the Institute for Contemporary History, University of Vienna. He specializes in university history, commemoration culture, and the politics of science, particularly focusing on the impact of National Socialism on academic institutions.
His research includes the revocation and re-awarding of academic degrees post-1938, memorialization of Holocaust victims at the University of Vienna, and the history of emigration and biographical research. He coordinates the 'Memorial Book for the Victims of National Socialism at the University of Vienna 1938' and contributes to exhibitions on Nazi persecution and remembrance.
