Herb Yang

Herb Yang is a Professor in the Faculty of Science - Computing Science at the University of Alberta. A senior member of IEEE and Associate Editor for Pattern Recognition, he has published over 80 technical papers in international journals and conference proceedings. His research covers computer graphics and computer vision, including 2D/3D shape analysis, segmentation, motion analysis, and image-based rendering.

Dr. Yang's research focuses on computational methods for visual data processing across domains from medical imaging to animation. Key interests include edge detection algorithms, ultrasound image enhancement, and realistic rendering techniques.
