Henry Webber

Dr Henry Webber is a Research Fellow in Crop Technology at the Royal Agricultural University (RAU), where he also serves as a part-time lecturer in crop production and agronomy. Beyond academia, he works as a policy adviser for Defra and contributes to a family-run farm in Essex.

• Education: PhD from the Universities of Bristol and Reading (collaboration with Historic England).

His research bridges agriculture and archaeology, focusing on human impacts on landscapes and sustainable land management. Webber employs technologies like UAVs, ground-penetrating radar, and portable X-ray fluorescence to study historical agricultural practices and inform modern sustainability debates.

Recent publications highlight his cross-disciplinary approach, integrating remote sensing, geophysics, and soil analysis to explore ancient landscapes in the UK, Mongolia, and beyond.
