Dr. Henry Miller serves as Adjunct Professor of Anthropology at St. Mary's College of Maryland and Director of Research at Historic St. Mary's City. With a PhD in Anthropology from Michigan State University, his archaeological research focuses on 17th-century Chesapeake settlements, colonial architecture, and cultural landscapes. Professional leadership includes former presidency of the Society for Historical Archaeology.
Dr. Miller's fieldwork includes the landmark Project Lead Coffins that identified members of Maryland's founding Calvert family. His public engagement work features the reconstruction of six 17th-century buildings and contributions to Smithsonian exhibits including 'Written in Bone: Forensic Files from the 17th-Century Chesapeake'.
