Henry M. Ordower

Henry M. Ordower is a Professor at Saint Louis University School of Law, affiliated with the Center for International and Comparative Law. He teaches courses in Corporate Finance, Taxation, and International Business Transactions. His research focuses on tax distribution disparities and their societal impact. Ordower holds degrees from Washington University (A.B., 1967), University of Chicago (M.A., 1970; A.B.D., 1971), and a J.D. from the University of Chicago School of Law (1975).

His recent work includes a 2022 publication in Tax Notes Federal addressing valuation challenges in taxing cryptocurrency and equity compensation. Ordower has received grants for research on Social Security funding mechanisms and municipal court impacts. He is a member of prestigious organizations like the American College of Tax Counsel and the European Association of Tax Law Professors.

Beyond academia, Ordower advises on tax planning for hedge funds and private equity, provides expert litigation testimony, and has held leadership roles in SLU’s Berlin Summer Program. His international experience spans over 100 countries, with lectures at conferences worldwide.
