Henry C.J. Jackson

Henry C.J. Jackson serves as a Part-Time Lecturer at the University of Southern California's Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, teaching since 2016 and providing writing coaching in the school's Media Center. His professional background includes director of editorial events at the Los Angeles Times until October 2019, staff editor at Politico during the 2016 presidential campaign and early Trump administration, and nearly a decade as a national writer at The Associated Press covering presidential campaigns, Congress, and public policy debates.

He holds a degree from the University of Kansas, where he served as a Dole Fellow at the Dole Institute of Politics.

Jackson's expertise centers on journalism and political communication, with extensive experience interviewing major political figures including Senators Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and John McCain, as well as former Governor Mitt Romney. His reporting has driven tangible policy changes, such as reforms to Iowa's public records laws, and spans electoral politics, legislative processes, and media-government dynamics.

At USC Annenberg, he actively mentors students through the Media Center, supporting journalistic development and student media production.
