Henrik Selin is the Associate Dean for Studies and Associate Professor at the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies, Boston University. His academic career includes roles as a Wallenberg Research Fellow at MIT (2001–2004) and affiliations with Harvard University’s Belfer Center and Center for International Development. He holds a PhD from Linköping University, Sweden.
His research focuses on global environmental governance, particularly pollutants like mercury and pesticides, and the interplay between technical systems, human behavior, and environmental sustainability. He has authored five books and over fifty peer-reviewed articles, contributing to debates on policy effectiveness and sustainable development.

Current affiliations include the TUM-IAS Hans Fischer Senior Fellowship (2018–present), collaborating with Prof. Miranda Schreurs on the Focus Group ‘Pollutants and Sustainability Governance.’ This group analyzes governance dynamics and trade-offs in global environmental management.
