Henri de Groot

Prof. Henri de Groot is a Full Professor of Regional Economic Dynamics at the Department of Spatial Economics, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, and affiliated with Ecorys Rotterdam. He is a Tinbergen Institute Fellow and member of the Social and Economic Council of the Netherlands (SER). With a PhD from Tilburg University (1998), he has held academic positions from post-doc to associate professor before becoming a Full Professor. His research focuses on regional growth, agglomeration, energy/environmental economics, and urban dynamics, supported by projects from the EU, World Bank, and Dutch ministries. He advises governments on policies like climate adaptation and urban development.
