Henriët van Middendorp is an Associate Professor of Health Psychology at Leiden University's Health, Medical, and Neuropsychology Unit. Her research focuses on psychoneurobiological factors in health and disease, particularly chronic pain, placebo/nocebo effects, stress mechanisms, and e-health interventions. She combines health psychology with developmental psychology to improve care for young patients with somatic conditions.

- Research Areas: Psychoneurobiology of chronic pain, skin/kidney diseases; e-health screening; placebo training; stress management in inflammatory conditions.
