Henning Laux is a Professor of Sociological Theories of the Knowledge Society at Leibniz Universität Hannover and Director of the Leibniz Research Center for Science and Society (LCSS). He has held academic positions at universities including Jena, Bremen, Chemnitz, Hamburg, and Hannover. His research focuses on sociological explanations of democratic institutions' erosion, disruptive technologies (e.g., cultured meat), and the interplay between science and society in transformative contexts. He co-authored Risikodemokratie: Chemnitz zwischen rechtsradikalem Brennpunkt und europäischer Kulturhauptstadt, analyzing political, scientific, and media dynamics through ethnography and analytical storytelling.
