Hemmant Jha

Hemmant Jha is an architect, designer, machinist, and educator affiliated with Northwestern University's Segal Design Institute. He holds a Master of Architecture from Yale University and a Bachelor of Architecture from the School of Planning and Architecture, Delhi, India.

His professional work spans architecture, consumer products, engineering, and sustainability. He founded Honest Structures, a responsible furniture design company, and has held strategic roles at Godrej&Boyce Manufacturing Company Ltd. and TATA Steel.

At Northwestern, he teaches courses like Design Thinking and Communication (DTC), Design Theory and Development (DTD), and established DSGN395: Design Objects/Furniture Design. His research focuses on integrating design, strategy, and sustainability for holistic problem-solving.
