Hem Paudel is a Lecturer in the Department of Rhetoric at the University of Iowa since Fall 2015. He holds a PhD in Rhetoric and Composition from the University of Louisville. His teaching spans undergraduate rhetoric courses and a wide range of writing and literature courses both in the U.S. and internationally.
Dr. Paudel's research focuses on globalization's impact on language diversity, digital technologies in writing instruction, and translingual/transmodal literacy theories. His work has been published in journals like JAC, International Multilingual Research Journal, and Atlantic Literary Review. A chapter in Transnational Writing Program Administration earned the 2017 CCCC Outstanding Book Award.
His recent articles address themes ranging from transnational educational administration to material science innovations in battery technology, reflecting interdisciplinary engagement. His teaching philosophy emphasizes culturally responsive pedagogies and technological integration in composition studies.
