Prof. Helmut Gründl is a Professor and Chair of Insurance, Insurance Supervision, and Insurance Regulation at Goethe University Frankfurt, funded by the German Insurance Association. Previously, he held a professorship at Humboldt University Berlin (1999-2010). He serves as Managing Director of the International Center for Insurance Regulation (ICIR).
His research focuses on insurance regulation, policyholder demand behavior, and strengthening the scientific basis for regulatory decisions. He teaches corporate finance, insurance economics, and asset-liability management of insurers.
Gründl completed his habilitation at the University of Passau. He is actively involved in ICIR's academic conferences and policy initiatives, contributing to global insurance supervision discussions.
