Helene Schmidt

Dr. Helene Schmidt is the Group Leader of the Schmidt Lab at the Ernst Strüngmann Institute (ESI) Frankfurt. Her research focuses on understanding the neural circuits underlying spatial navigation, particularly the interaction between hippocampal place cells and entorhinal grid cells. She employs advanced 3D electron microscopy for high-resolution mapping of neuronal connections at the synaptic level.
