Helen V. Bateman

Dr. Helen Vrailas Bateman is an Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of the South (College of Arts and Sciences). She holds a Ph.D. from Vanderbilt University and focuses on psychological sense of community in educational settings, examining its impact on student well-being, self-esteem, and social dynamics. Recent work includes studies on BMI, bullying, and prosocial behavior in rural Appalachia schools.
