Professor Helen L. Storr is a Professor of Paediatric Endocrinology and Honorary Consultant at Queen Mary University of London's Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, within the Endocrinology department at the William Harvey Research Institute. She graduated in Medicine from the Royal London Hospital in 1995 and completed a PhD in molecular endocrinology at Barts and the London School of Medicine, funded by a Wellcome Trust Fellowship. Promoted to Professor in 2020, she leads research on growth disorders, genetic testing for short stature, and pediatric endocrine conditions like Cushing’s syndrome.
Her research focuses on molecular mechanisms of growth, diagnostic pipelines for genetic disorders, and clinical guidelines for growth abnormalities. She directs the GRASP genetic testing program and co-leads the Growth Monitor initiative. Awards include the 2011 ESPE Young Investigator Award and an NIHR Advanced Fellowship (2019). She serves on editorial boards, including the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, and chairs the BSPED Growth disorders Special Interest Group.
Collaborations span institutions globally, including with researchers in the US, Canada, and Europe. Her work integrates clinical care, molecular research, and public health, addressing challenges in growth assessment and rare endocrine disorders.
