Helen L. Blake

Helen L. Blake is an Adjunct Professor at the Graduate School of Health, University of Technology Sydney, and holds a PhD from Charles Sturt University. Her research focuses on multilingual speakers' intelligibility in English and its societal implications in Australia, framed by the International Classification of Functioning (WHO). She is a certified speech pathologist and active member of international panels like the International Expert Panel on Multilingual Children's Speech.

Her work addresses education, employment, and leisure participation barriers faced by non-native English speakers. She contributed to Speech Pathology Australia’s Culturally Responsive Practice guidelines and collaborates globally on multilingual speech development projects, such as the Children's Voices Centre initiative involving 70+ languages.

Blake has published extensively on telepractice adaptations during pandemics, workplace diversity frameworks, and migration-related language challenges. Her research aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals targeting education and social inclusion.
