Helen Graham

Helen Graham is a Senior Lecturer and Programme Director of the MSc Programme for Skin Ageing and Aesthetic Medicine at the University of Manchester's School of Medicine. She leads curriculum development for a distance learning program targeting practicing clinicians.

Education: BSc (Hons) in Anatomical Sciences and a PhD in Biochemistry (1999) from the University of Manchester, focusing on collagen fibrillogenesis during tendon morphogenesis. Previously served as a biochemistry lecturer at the University of Malawi Medical School (2000-2001).

Research interests center on extracellular matrix biology, specifically age-related changes in skin elasticity and cardiovascular tissues. Current work explores ethnic variations in skin biomechanics using finite element modeling and investigates molecular mechanisms underlying heart failure through studies on titin protein dynamics. Techniques include electron microscopy and biomechanical testing.
