Heino Pihlap

Heino Pihlap is a Lecturer at the Estonian University of Life Sciences, affiliated with the Institute of Forestry and Engineering's Chair of Biosystems Engineering. He holds a MSc (cum laude) and PhD in renewable energy systems. His research focuses on energy efficiency in buildings, smart grids, and renewable energy integration. He has been recognized as Lecturer of the Year (2023) and received awards for academic contributions (2018).

Education: BSc (2017), MSc (2019), PhD (expected 2025), all in Energy Management and System Technology at the Estonian University of Life Sciences.

Research interests include optimizing heat pump systems, grid load reduction, and decentralized energy solutions. His work spans 11 publications since 2017, with recent focus on smart meter analytics and energy consumption modeling. Administrative roles include curriculum advisory committees and institute board memberships.

Supervised Helina Turja's 2020 master's thesis on energy evaluation methods. Engaged in energy management education and R&D projects on battery capacity measurement and building automation.
