Heike Hahn

Prof. Dr. Heike Hahn serves as Head of the Department of Mathematics Education at the Faculty of Education, University of Erfurt, and also holds the position of Vice Dean/Dean of Studies. With extensive experience in mathematics education and teacher training, she has been instrumental in developing digital learning tools and methodologies for mathematics instruction.

Her educational background includes:

• Doctorate in Philosophy from the University of Bremen (2003, summa cum laude)
• Habilitation at the University of Erfurt (2011) with teaching qualification in mathematics education
• Studies at the Institute for Primary School Education at the University of Education Erfurt/Mühlhausen

Prof. Hahn's research focuses on mathematics education, particularly on digital learning tools and teacher training methodologies. Her work emphasizes the effective integration of technology in mathematics instruction, with special attention to primary school education. She has developed innovative approaches for using tablets and apps in mathematics lessons, and has created learning spaces that provide teacher trainees with practical resources and consultation services.

She leads multiple significant research projects including LAMBDA (Teacher Training in Mathematics - Best Practice of Digital Applications), Video.LinK (Videos in teacher training), and FUM (Long-term competence-oriented support for non-specialist mathematics teachers). Her work bridges theoretical frameworks with practical classroom applications, particularly focusing on how digital tools can support mathematical understanding.
