Heidi Ahonen

Heidi Ahonen is a Professor of Music Therapy and Coordinator of the PhD: Music (Music Therapy) program at Wilfrid Laurier University. She specializes in music psychotherapy research with a focus on group analytic approaches, clinical improvisation, and Guided Imagery and Music (GIM). Her expertise also extends to music medicine and low frequency sound research. She coordinates doctoral studies in music therapy and holds roles as RP (Registered Psychotherapist), MTA (Music Therapist Accredited), and FAMI (Fellow of the American Music Therapy Association).
