Heidi Acampora

Dr. Heidi Acampora is a Lecturer in the Department of Natural Resources & The Environment and Principal Investigator at the Marine and Freshwater Research Centre (MFRC) at Atlantic Technological University in Galway City, Ireland. Her research focuses on marine pollution and its impacts on wildlife, particularly seabirds. She investigates pollutants such as persistent organic pollutants (POPs) and plastic ingestion in species like storm petrels, cormorants, and terns. Her work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to clean water and responsible consumption.
