Heide Peters

Dr. habil. Heide Peters is a Research Associate at the IPN - Leibniz Institute for Science and Mathematics Education in Kiel, Germany, since 2006. She specializes in Science Education with a focus on Geochemistry and Didactic Methods, particularly in the context of nationwide science competitions. She holds a habilitation in Geochemistry from the University of Göttingen (2000) and a doctorate from the same institution (1988).

• Key Roles: Officer for the Further Development of Science Competitions (2022-present), Chair of the 17th International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO 2020), and Second Spokesperson of the Working Group for Nationwide Student Competitions (since 2012).
• Research Focus: Integration of science competitions into school practice, development of didactic materials for chemistry education, and analysis of student interests using the RIASEC model.
