Hector Sequera Mora

Hector Sequera Mora is Assistant Professor of Performance at Durham University's Department of Music. An active performer of early chordophones and musicologist, his research bridges historical performance practice with computational methods.

Research focuses on:

• 16th-century performance practice
• Analysis of lute manuscripts and printed sources
• Computational reconstruction of polyphony
• Cross-cultural musical exchanges in Renaissance Europe

Recent interdisciplinary projects combine musicology with machine learning to reconstruct historical performance practices. His work has been supported by AHRC funding and performed internationally.
