About
Hector Rodriguez-Deniz is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Columbia University's Data Science Institute, where he collaborates with Professor David Blei on scalable variational inference for complex spatial probabilistic models. Previously, he served as a Lecturer in the Division of Statistics and Machine Learning (STIMA) at Linköping University, Sweden. He holds a PhD in Statistics from Linköping University (2023), supervised by Professor Mattias Villani.
His research focuses on Bayesian models for spatiotemporal data, particularly in transportation networks, emphasizing scalable methodologies. He is currently supported by the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation under the Wallenberg AI, Autonomous Systems and Software Program (WASP), Sweden's largest individual research initiative.
Dr. Rodriguez-Deniz’s work bridges theoretical advancements in statistics with real-world applications in transportation and spatial analysis. His affiliations include the Data Science Institute and prior contributions to STIMA at Linköping University.
