Heather Rally

Dr. Heather Rally is an Adjunct Professor specializing in Animal Law. As a practicing clinical veterinarian, she founded Thrive Wild, focusing on wild animal wellbeing. She previously served as Senior Veterinarian for Captive Animal Law Enforcement at the PETA Foundation, leading investigations into animal abuse in U.S. roadside zoos.

Her research examines wildlife crime, conservation policy, and animal welfare standards. She serves on scientific advisory committees for the Whale Sanctuary Project, Aegean Marine Life Sanctuary, and Catalyst Conservation Foundation. Rally was featured in the documentary Racing Extinction for her global wildlife crime investigations.

She has published in journals including Marine Ecology Progress Services, Sea Technology Magazine, Tulane Environmental Law Journal, and contributed to the ABA treatise The Endangered Species Act Law and Policy.
