Heather Meyer is an Associate Professor and Director of Education at the Institute for Advanced Teaching and Learning (IATL) at the University of Warwick, where she also serves as Director of Undergraduate Studies. Her roles include overseeing interdisciplinary academic modules and advancing pedagogical innovation, particularly in assessment practices and student-led learning. She holds a PhD in Transnational Studies from the University of Southampton, focusing on education, social anthropology, and migration.
Her research explores how social imaginaries shape mobility in educational contexts, informed by ethnographic work in international schools. She advocates transdisciplinary approaches in diverse educational settings and has contributed to initiatives promoting inclusive education and widening participation. Heather is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a Fellow of the Warwick International Higher Education Academy, recognized with the Warwick Award for Teaching Excellence (2021 and 2023).
Previously, she held roles at the University of Southampton, CU Coventry, and Oxford Brookes University, with over 14 years in UK higher education. Her work bridges international mobility, identity, and community-building in global educational landscapes.
