Heather Kirk

Heather Kirk is a Professor in the Department of French Studies at the University of Western Ontario. She holds a PhD and MA from Western University and an Honors BA from Brescia University College. Her research focuses on Renaissance and pre-academic theater (1570-1640), tragedy and tragicomedy, authorship and copyright issues, and polemics in 17th-century France. She has published widely on topics such as literary criticism, communication dynamics, and cultural history.

Her recent work includes analyses of online teaching perceptions, the Cid controversy, and professional identity in early modern France. She has also contributed to discussions on emotion and dance in 18th-century France. Her articles span disciplines from literary analysis to digital pedagogy, reflecting her interdisciplinary approach.

Heather Kirk’s publications highlight her expertise in French cultural and intellectual history, with a focus on authorship debates, theatrical politics, and the social dimensions of communication.
