Heather Kirk-Ballard

Dr. Heather Kirk-Ballard serves as an Assistant Professor and Extension Specialist in Sustainable Urban Landscapes at the University of Georgia's Department of Horticulture within the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (CAES). Her role is divided into 55% Extension, 40% Instruction, and 5% Service. She holds a B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in Plant and Soil Systems and Renewable Natural Resources from Louisiana State University.

Her research focuses on environmentally friendly landscaping practices, emphasizing climate resilience, biodiversity promotion through native plants, permeable hardscaping materials, water conservation, and stormwater pollution reduction.
