Heather Howard

Heather Howard is an Associate Professor at Purdue University Libraries and School of Information Studies and concurrently serves as Associate Faculty in Library and Information Science at Indiana University Indianapolis. Since 2016, she has led collections at the Parrish Library of Management and Economics and chairs Purdue’s Information Resources Council. Her dual role integrates academic leadership, teaching, and library management.

Education: M.L.S. from Indiana University Indianapolis (2014).

Research & Teaching: Focuses on the scholarship of teaching and learning in academic libraries, leadership development, and information management. Teaches in Purdue’s Krannert School of Management, Economics, and Hospitality and Tourism Management programs. Recognized for innovative pedagogy, she was inducted into Purdue’s Teaching Academy, a prestigious honor for instructional excellence.

Professional Background: Previously worked at Trine University as an Information Services Librarian and Butler University as Access Services Supervisor. Active entrepreneur, co-owner of Escape Velocity Brewing in Lafayette, Indiana.
