Heather Englund is Tenured Associate Professor in the College of Nursing at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. Her research addresses diversity, equity and inclusion in nursing education and practice.
Research focuses on marginalization experiences in nursing academia, LGBTQ+ healthcare competence, and gender diversity challenges. Investigations examine educational barriers for underrepresented groups and strategies for creating inclusive learning environments.
Recent publications explore competence gaps in LGBTQ+ healthcare, experiences of male nursing students and faculty, and minority stress impacts. Research incorporates both quantitative and qualitative methodologies to examine systemic inequities.
