Heather Bredy

Heather Bredy is an Associate Teaching Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy within the Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Alberta. She joined the department as a full-time teaching professor in 2011 and currently serves as the Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education.

Her educational background includes a Master of Clinical Science in Physiotherapy (Manipulative Therapy) from the University of Western Ontario (2008) and a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta (1998).

Professor Bredy's professional focus centers on Musculoskeletal Physical Therapy and Clinical Education within physical therapy training. She is deeply involved in the musculoskeletal stream of the Master of Science in Physical Therapy (MScPT) program, designing curriculum and supervising clinical placements to develop practical skills in future practitioners.

In her role as Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education, she manages all clinical placement courses including PTHER 517A/B, 520, 522, and 523 across the 2025-2026 academic year. These courses combine classroom instruction with hands-on clinical experiences at approved healthcare facilities, ensuring students meet professional competency standards through structured rotations and interdisciplinary opportunities.
