Heather Ballinger

Heather Ballinger is a Lecturer in the School of Education at Cal Poly Humboldt, specializing in K-12 teacher preparation for literacy and social studies education. She currently serves as co-PI on a U.S. Department of Education American History and Civics grant.

Education includes an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from University of California, Davis.

Dr. Ballinger's work focuses on supporting new educators through fieldwork supervision and curriculum development. She has led initiatives including the Improvement Science Fellowship and New Generation of Educators program. Her research examines effective mentoring practices and history education pedagogies.
