Dr. Heather Almond is a Research Fellow at Cranfield University's Centre for Energy Decarbonisation and Recovery. With over 25 years in advanced manufacturing and renewable energy, she holds a PhD and MSc in Advanced Manufacturing Technology from Cranfield University. Her expertise spans micro-electrodischarge machining (micro-EDM), photochemical machining (PCM), and Concentrated Solar Power (CSP). She has led research in erosion testing of CSP components, sol gel coatings for absorber tubes, and biomimicry in solar technologies. Dr. Almond has supervised MSc and PhD students and served as course director for the MSc in Microsystems and Nanotechnology, and deputy director for the MSc in Renewable Energy.
