Heath Jones

Dr. Heath Jones is Professor of Music and Chair of the Department of Music at Oklahoma Christian University, where he has been a faculty member since 2000. His academic responsibilities include teaching applied saxophone, music education, music technology, world music, and jazz improvisation. He also directs the Jazz Ensemble and Sweat Band, integrating performance pedagogy with curriculum development.

Dr. Jones maintains an active professional performance career, specializing in jazz and contemporary music. His artistic collaborations include performances with the Oklahoma City Philharmonic, The Temptations, The Four Tops, Frankie Avalon, and other prominent artists. He is recognized as a Cannonball Saxophone Artist and previously served as president of the Oklahoma Chapter of the International Association for Jazz Education.
