Hazel Roberts

Hazel Roberts is a Senior Lecturer in Sociology at the University of Gloucestershire, where she teaches sociology, criminology, and Crime and Criminal Justice courses. She serves as the Academic Course Lead for the BA Crime and Criminal Justice (Level 6 online top-up) program.

Her research focuses on domestic gender roles and their impact on societal inequalities, with an emphasis on participatory research approaches that empower students to address community challenges. She supervises postgraduate projects on post-colonial identities for Nigerian migrant women and the intersection of mental healthcare provision with violent offending.

Previous research includes studies on disabled students in higher education, healthcare for people with learning disabilities, 'real-world' learning, community 'assets,' and an evaluation of a Health Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (HIDVA) project.
