Hazel Ransome

Hazel Ransome is a Senior Lecturer and Examination & Assessments Tutor at the Department of Midwifery, School of Education, Midwifery and Social Work, Kingston University. She has been a member of the Faculty since 2014, initially serving as an honorary lecturer while working clinically as a midwife.

• Qualifications: RM (Registered Midwife), BSc (Hons), PGCLTHE (Post Graduate Certificate in Higher Education)

Her research focuses on promoting normality in childbirth, continuity of care, and empowering women in midwifery practice. She has contributed to teaching midwifery to both undergraduate and postgraduate students, including specialized pathways for registered nurses.

Hazel also played a key role in clinical practice facilitation during her interim Clinical Practice Facilitator position at a healthcare trust, bridging clinical and academic expertise.
