Haydn Rubelmann

Haydn Rubelmann is an Assistant Professor in the Biology Department at The University of Tampa. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of South Florida (2014) and dual B.S./B.A. degrees in Biology and Zoology from the same institution (2005).

His research focuses on Environmental Microbiology, particularly microbial communities in marine hydrothermal vents and anchialine springs, and STEM Education innovations. Recent publications analyze sulfur metabolism pathways and microbial diversity in extreme marine environments.

Haydn has received multiple research grants, including the New Researcher Grant and Creative Scholarship Grant from USF's Division of Sponsored Research, and teaching awards such as the Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award. He mentors undergraduate student researchers, guiding presentations at the University of South Florida Undergraduate Research Symposium.
