Hartmut Zabel

Prof. Hartmut Zabel is Chair of Experimental Physics at Ruhr University Bochum, Germany. He holds a PhD from Munich (1978) and conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Houston. He served as Associate Professor and later Full Professor of Physics at the University of Illinois before assuming his current role in 1989.

• Research Focus: Structure and dynamics of materials using neutrons and synchrotron radiation, bridging hard and soft condensed matter.
