Harry Gamble is Inez K. Gaylord Professor of French and Francophone Studies at College of Wooster. His research examines France's colonial empire, decolonization processes, and postcolonial relationships, with geographic focus on Sub-Saharan Africa and the French Caribbean.
He supervises Wooster's Global Impacts Pathway and Peace Corps Prep program. His publications analyze colonial education systems and intellectual history in French West Africa. Current work explores decolonization through higher education systems development in postcolonial contexts.
Education includes PhD from New York University and BA from Wake Forest University. As a Peace Corps volunteer, he developed field experience informing his academic work on colonial and postcolonial dynamics.
