Harrison F. Dietzman

Harrison F. Dietzman serves as an Assistant Professor of Creative Writing in the Department of English at George Fox University, a position he assumed in 2023. Contact: hdietzman@georgefox.edu, 503-554-2606.

His academic credentials include a PhD in English from the University of Iowa and an MFA in Fiction from the University of California, Davis.

Prior to his academic appointment, Dietzman worked for six years as a wildland firefighter with the Washington State Department of Natural Resources.

His research and teaching interests center on postsecular theory, medical humanities, and creative writing practices, with emphasis on both fiction and creative nonfiction genres. His scholarly and creative works have been published in prominent venues including Religion & Literature, The Point, and Guernica.
