Harold InDelicato serves as Associate Professor of Digital Design and Studio Art at Springfield College within the Department of Visual and Performing Arts in the School of Arts and Sciences. His educational background includes a Master of Fine Arts from Boston University (2005), Master of Arts from Rhode Island College (2003), and Bachelor of Arts from Rhode Island College (1996).
Professor InDelicato's research spans communications design, virtual reality, augmented reality, 3D printing, animation, and media studies, with theoretical interests extending to postmodernism (semiotics, structuralism, and hegemony), critical theory, philosophy, social theory, the Frankfurt School, and architecture. His artistic philosophy centers on creating alternate realities that challenge physical constraints and offer new perspectives through shapes, sound, and movement in space.
He teaches courses including Figure/Basic Drawing, Design, Graphic Design, Maker Lab, Game Design and Development, Web Design using HTML and CSS, and 2D/3D CG Animation using AutoDesk Maya, emphasizing a teaching approach that draws students in and helps them achieve their full potential.
Technologically proficient with Adobe Creative Suite, Autodesk Maya, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and various hardware including 3D printers and Oculus Rift, InDelicato maintains an active animation practice in New York City while continuing his academic career that began in 2004.
