Hargsoon Yoon

Dr. Hargsoon Yoon is a Professor at Norfolk State University's College of Science, Engineering and Technology and founder of the Neural Engineering and Nano-Electronics Laboratory. He holds a Ph.D. in Engineering from Pennsylvania State University (2003), an M.S. (1994) and B.S. (1992) from Yonsei University.

His research focuses on neural recordings and functional imaging of neural networks, combining materials science with biomedical engineering applications. Externally funded by agencies including NSF, NASA, DoD, and NIH (BRAIN Initiative), his work bridges nanoelectronics and neuroscience.

Dr. Yoon actively contributes to academic service as a NIH BRAIN Initiative review panel member, Guest Editor for Biosensors, Review Editor for Frontiers in Materials, and editorial member of Scientific Pages of Translational Medicine. He participates in conference committees like SPIE International Conference for Nano-, Bio-, Info-Tech Sensors and Systems, and maintains senior membership in IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society.
